Acolyte
Acolytes join our clergy, lectors, lay Eucharistic ministers, ushers, the choir, and other musicians as they lead worship at Christ Church. Being an acolyte provides children and young adults with the unique opportunity to gain a deeper exposure to the rites of the church, and to expand their participation in the worship service.
Youth acolytes serve in teams consisting of two crucifers (lead cross and second cross), two torchbearers, and a Gospel Book Bearer. All youth in grades 5-12 are invited to acolyte. The acolyte teams receive training in their roles each September. Any necessary ongoing training and support is provided by the Clergy and the Acolyte Master on Sundays. Youth who are interested in assisting in Christ Church Episcopal services should contact one of the Clergy or the Acolyte Master, Heather Crampton
