Music

Music is a vital part of worship and celebration at Christ Church. Members participate in our choir and other special programs, which enhance weekly services and enrich life in our church community.

08-16-09 (CCE Courtney Valentine, Charlie Wirth) 003Music is a vital expression of our worship. It has played an important role in the life of the church since The Reverend John Wesley (rector of Christ Church from 1736-1737) published the first English Hymnal in America at Christ Church in 1737. The Reverend Dr. F. Bland Tucker (rector of Christ Church from 1945-1967) served on the committees that put together both The Hymnal 1940 and our current hymnal, The Hymnal 1982. He also authored many hymns which are published in both editions. In 1819, Paul Revere and Sons constructed the north tower bell which still rings at all Christ Church’s worship services.

Music remains an essential part of worship at Christ Church today. If you are interested in any of our music programs or in joining the choir, please call the Church office and ask for Tim Hall, our Choirmaster.

Rehearsals are on Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00.
Contact the parish office or choirmaster for more information.
