M. M. Goldsmith, III, M.D.

Chip Goldsmith is a native of Savannah and a lifelong member of Christ Church.  Chip completed his undergraduate, medical school, and residency training at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  He returned to Savannah in 1989 after a two year academic appointment at Johns Hopkins Medical Institution. Chip founded the Georgia Ear Institute, where he practices neurotology/otology, as well as the International Center for Otologic Training (ICOT), a non-profit organization whose global mission is to positively impact the management of deafness and otologic diseases in the developing world through education.  He also co-founded the Savannah Health Mission (now functioning as the Community Health Mission), a free health clinic for the working poor.  His wife, Ruth, is an attorney.  Together, they have three grown boys: Miles, David, and Ben. In addition to being an accomplished physician, Chip is a well-known watercolorist.
