Joe Gussler is an ophthalmologist and serves as president of the Georgia Eye Institute.  He is originally from Ashland, Kentucky.  Joe is an alumnus of Vanderbilt University, University of Louisville, University of Kentucky, and University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.  He is married to Catherine M. Gussler, a lifelong Episcopalian and member of Christ Church.  Joe and Catherine were married at Christ Church in 1985 and have two grown children, Walker and Caroline.  Joe has also been active in medical missions to India and El Salvador and has hosted doctors from Bangladesh.
