Within the border of the SEAL, from 7:00 to 5:00 o’clock, is the legend CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SAVANNAH GEORGIA 1733. A slender equilateral red cross with flared ends is at 12:00 o’clock, another at 6:00 o’clock. 1733 is the date of establishment of Christ Church Savannah by Church of England missionaries.
