Our Seal

The SEAL of Christ Church Episcopal in Savannah, Georgia is Vesica Piscis, or pointed oval. Within the border of the SEAL, from 7:00 to 5:00 o’clock, is the legend CHRIST CHURCH EPISCOPAL SAVANNAH GEORGIA 1733. A slender equilateral red cross with flared ends is at 12:00 o’clock, another at 6:00 o’clock. 1733 is the date of establishment of Christ Church Savannah by Church of England missionaries. The Episcopal Church

Christ Church Episcopal, the “Mother Church of Georgia”, was founded on February 12, 1733 and is a member of the Diocese of Georgia which, in turn, is one of 111 Dioceses which compose The Episcopal Church. The Episcopal Church is a constituent member of the Anglican Communion, a fellowship within the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church of those duly constituted dioceses, provinces, and regional Churches in communion with the See of Canterbury.
